What is an Acrylic benchtop?
“Follow the latest trend. Start your own. Do something positive for the planet. Surround yourself with sophistication. Acrylic gives you the ultimate in freedom of expression and choice, in your kitchen, your bath, and throughout your home. Acrylic, it’s your surface. The one that makes whatever you see in it possible.”
Acrylic is a unique material with a rich, natural translucence that is inviting to touch.
Acrylic offers design versatility, function and durability far beyond the scope of conventional materials. Since its introduction in 1967, it has proven itself to be a remarkably durable, versatile material that’s easy to live with in both residential and commercial environments.
Acrylic is easy to clean and is for food contact. Because Acrylic is nonporous; stains do not penetrate the surface. With proper cleaning, Acrylic also resists the growth of mould, mildew and bacteria. Acrylic is used in laboratories worldwide, so is more than adequate for your home; it’s also the choice of a global fast food giant. Acrylic tops carry a 10 year limited warranty for residential applications.
Is Acrylic heat resistant?
We do not recommend placing a hot pot directly on Acrylic surfaces. Although Acrylic solid surface remains stable and undamaged in temperatures up to 212ºF (100ºC), high heat or flame will damage your surface. In most cases, this damage can be repaired. To protect your Acrylic surfaces from heat damage, always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet when using hot pots, or heat-generating appliances, like electric skillets or electric cooking pots.
